Easy to install and works great! Comes with required torx bit but not Allen key, luckily I had one that fit in my toolbox.

Easy install and works great at slowly lowering the tailgate. Doesn’t rub or hit on anything. Instructions were easy to follow. You’ll most likely need a star socket on a 3/8” ratchet to remove top bolt as the tool they provided will not give you enough leverage. Took me about 15 minutes to install.

Product was well packaged, thick steel, decent strut. However, it did not come with a star head wrench for the smaller screws for installation. That didn't matter, it does NOT fit the 2025 Model Year Ford Maverick.EDIT : Decided to take the bracket to work, got a smaller T-Nut to fit the hole and formed the round edge that goes around the hinge down a bit. Added some 1/32" padding behind the bottom bracket and tried it again. Works better now that the nut fits the hole, the bracket isn't riding on the hinge, and the unit swings freely between the tailgate and bedside. I was just going to return it, but my "I can make it work" side took over. I will say the brackets aren't low quality steel, they are decent quality and rather hard to grind.Side note, you may be able to have this work just fine in the packaging if you force the T-nut into the hole and allow the bracket to be wedge against the hinge. I'm rather particular about my installations so, it didn't fit in my eyes. Once modified, it works excellent!

The system works great, exactly as stated and exactly what I wanted. Installation was quick and simple. The reason it got 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the star wrench. Before attempting to install i seen It was nowhere near the right size to remove the existing bolt on my 2004 F150. It fit the supplied bolt very loosely. Not many people have a key this size in there tool box, I ended up buying a set at harbor freight for 9$ instead of a single for 4 at local auto parts but I figured I would be likely to use the smaller pics in the set eventually. Once I had what I needed Installation was a breeze and no further issues.

This is easy to install and works perfectly. Others listed here cost more but this one works fine and is well worth the money. Though the tailgate of the Maverick is fairly small and lightweight it is fairly easy to let it BANG(!) down. This keeps that from happening. Using Locktite on the bolts when installing will help keep them tight and everything secure and lined up correctly.

Easy install. Top mounting bracket was very tight but the included torx tool got it off. Bottom bracket easy install with the included allen tool, just be sure to put the bolt on the screw enough before you put the bolt in, so it doesn't fall off into the bed! Also use locktite or nail polish or something on the bolt to keep it tight. Bottle opener / tie down removal tool not included so you'll need a different size torx. Shock install at the end simple, but push the ends on don't hammer them in! Bed drops a little bit before the shock takes over. Open slowly as designed no noise or bang. Cheaper alternative to DeeZee and some others, and I don't like that Ford Accessories ship to the dealer for pick up!

I got the tail gate kit. Everything was in the box for installing. It was easy to install with one small problem. The tool for removing the cable bolt did not fit very well to remove the bolt. I got my adjustable wrench out, within a minute l had the bolt out. Everything was smooth after that and got the tailgate lowering hookup completed. It works great and no dropping of the tailgate. It was lowering slow and easy.8

The tailgate assist for a 2002 f250 works as it should. This did not come with locktite to help hold the lower balljoint in it's riv nut but I have that already in my garage. The directions are very generic and are not application specific. There are plenty of youtube videos out there to assist if you need help.I chose to install this on the passenger side instead. They say to install on driver side only but that's cause the shock will lift the tailgate off the hinge if installed on the passenger side.I am installing a tailgate lock to keep it from lifting off the passenger side pivot point as I've already routed the wiring for an electric handle lock through the driver side hole they want you to install this in4 stars because the directions are very generic and while it works well, unless you have some experience you might be lost when it comes to installation.
