Excellent Fairing - Simple Install
Bought an XG500 Street 3 weeks ago and have been looking for a fairing since day 1. There are hundreds of them out there and it's a toss up if they will fit on the XG without modification. Came across this one and due to the good pics, it looked like it would go on without an issue. The pics show the brackets on it and when I looked at my bike it seemed to be the same. It's either the previous owner had one on there or the brackets came thru factory, don't know.Some people say "comes with hardware" description says fairing only, confusing. When it arrived, it was packaged very well and very well protected. It is of a durable plastic, not fiberglass. I looked at the brackets on it and saw they were identical to the ones already installed on my bike. All I had to do is use a hex wrench and remove the 2 screws on the top bracket on the shield and saw that it lined up perfect. My bike already had the 2 rubber gromets so i removed the factory lower bracket but I noticed the on one side, the plastic tips were broken off so it concerned me (see pics). I pushed it into place and it slid right in. Screwed the 2 top hex screws onto the top bracket and it was done. Less than 5 mins and it looks fantastic.Some people are telling me to paint it the color of the tank, others say leave it black. It's plastic, so I'd have to find a durable paint and match to change the color. Not sure yet (and I can't find the correct color - there's 2)I've seen these fairings, same exact one at 40-50% higher in price so the price point on this one is great.I'd buy it again and maybe buy another one to paint and have 2, that's how simple it is to install.Highly recommended
