Perfect for Beginners – Made My First Embroidery Projects Look Amazing!
As a new user of a Poolin embroidery machine, I was both excited and nervous about diving into machine embroidery. I wanted my first few projects—towels, baby bibs, and some fleece patches—to look neat and professional. After doing some research, I came across this New brothread Water-Soluble Embroidery Topping Film, and I'm so glad I ordered it!🧵 Beginner-Friendly and Makes a Huge DifferenceGame-changer for textured fabrics:I quickly learned that without a topping film, stitches can get lost in the fluff of terry cloth or fleece. This film holds down those fuzzy surfaces, so the stitches sit cleanly on top, giving that crisp, detailed finish I was hoping for.Super easy to use:I was worried it would be complicated, but it couldn’t be simpler. I just hooped my fabric and stabilizer as usual, then laid a piece of the topping film over the top, taped the corners down (optional, but helpful), and started stitching. It stayed in place and didn’t bunch or shift.Dissolves beautifully with water:Once my design was done, I sprayed a little warm water over the design and dabbed it gently with a cloth. The film melted away within seconds—no sticky bits, no mess. For smaller details, I just used a damp cotton swab.Generous roll, easy to cut:The roll is a great size (10” x 10 yards), and I love that I can cut exactly the piece I need for each hoop size. It’s economical and neat, with plenty left for dozens of projects.💡 Tips from a Fellow Beginner:Don’t skip this step for fluffy fabrics! It’s honestly the secret to making your designs pop.Keep it dry and stored flat or in a sealed bag—moisture will start dissolving it.Even if you’re just doing small names or lettering, it makes a big visual difference.🌟 Final ThoughtsIf you're just starting out with your Poolin embroidery machine, this is one of those small add-ons that makes a huge impact on your final results. It helped me build confidence right away because my projects came out clean, legible, and professional-looking.Highly recommended for anyone new to machine embroidery—you’ll see the difference immediately!

I didn't find it easy to use for lace, but it will be good for towel topping instead
I didn't find it easy to use for lace, but if it is anything like solvy transparent topper it will be good for towel topping instead. I recommend the more solid washaway stabiliser for lace (marvellous, had no problems at all), but also found, previously, that the transparent washaway stabiliser was good for towels etcetera, to prevent stitch sinkage.

The best water-soluble topper!
I was recommended this topper, and I won't be using any other brand! Putting it on top of my fabric during embroidery makes a huge difference and really helps the thread to stay on top of the fabric rather than sinking in!Trust me, if you do a side-by-side embroidery between a design with and without this topper, you will see an enormous difference. I don't even adhere this with spray - I just float it and it works perfectly!

Didn't quite work for me
I was really hoping this product would work for me, but I just found it's too thin to work on the fabrics that I need to embroider unfortunately. I use an embroidery machine and use jesery fabrics for reference. But it's good points are that it's good value for money and washes away well. Just not suitable for me.
