Men's Vintage Canvas L Messenger Shoulder Cross body Bag

I was looking for a bag to carry my surface pro in, and found this on Amazon. It looked good, and the reviews were good - so I pushed the button and bought it.It arrived well packed, in a plastic bag in a box. (I actually took the plastic bag, folded it and put it IN the Canvas Shoulder bag in case i am out and about and it rains - keep the Surface Pro dry!) It fits and rides perfectly over a shoulder - across the body. I have had several compliments on it as well.I carry my surface pro with keyboard, its charger, a pair of sun-glasses, a small notebook and pen - and still have plenty of room to spare! The have the zipper to the top set up so it can be lifted up if your item to be stored is a wee bit wider (the case with my surface pro, since I have the pen attached to the side.).I've had no issues with the zippers as some report,but I have only been using it for two weeks. I will update if anything changes!

Bag is canvas and has a nice weight to the fabric. Measurements are looking at bag flap facing you.• Back outside zippered pocket is 6.25 x 0 inches wide and 4 inches deep.• Inside back zipped pocket is 6 x 0 inches wide and 5 inches deep.• Inside front open two pockets are and 3 x 1 inches (cell phone size) and 5 x 0 inches (small note pad size) both are 3.25 inches deep• Main inside pocket is 10 x 3 inches wide and 11 x 3 inches deep if you let the zipper top extend above you can go 12 inches with something thin like a tablet.• Outside front zipped pocket (under flap) is 6 x 0 inches wide and 5.5 inches deep.• Outside front main pocket (under flap) is 10 x 0 inches wide and 8.5 inches deep.All these measurements are made with a ruler of space you can use without busting zipper putting something in. Anything with a 0 measurement will bulge into the inside of the bag or bulge towards the outside the bag.An Ipad 2 with smart cover and hard back will fit sideways in front flap pocket and easily inside main pocket standing up or sideways. The main pocket is 3 inches wide but can carry something larger since sides are soft and can bulge out.Shoulder strap maxed out is 53 inches long and hanging from hook is 26 inches to top of the bag. I can wear the bag on the right about hip high with the strap on the left shoulder. I am 6’ 2”

Bag was the perfect size but did not have as much space compartmental-wise as needed (small issue since I just downgraded the number of goods I would carry). Zipper failed within the first 48 hours. Return was simple enough and credit was given immediately. Replacement bag smaller compartment zipper failed within first 12 hours. I just printed the return label and will return and purchase elsewhere.

I had this bag only two weeks when the stitching began to unravel in three different places and one of the zippers fell apart.

The bag I received was a bit lighter in color than the picture (minus 1 star). It also was a tad bit larger in dimensions approximately 9.5" X 10.5" (plus 1 star), then what was listed. Although, the size ended up being perfect. I had to subtract 1 star since the front zipper was a bit unreliable (but it is now working fine). So, the only improvements I'd recommend is to match the color to the pictures, plus a few more inches (maybe 3 to 4) in the shoulder strap would be welcomed.Lots of pockets and storage, there are actually 3 zippered parts, a smaller outer storage pocket, the main top section, and a hidden internal pockets (which would be perfect for a wallet. The back of the bag appears to also have some very thin cushion sewn into the structure, which should be sufficient to stop minor bumps and falls. There is an extra rear pocket, which uses a magnetic snap button; the main flap (think messenger bag style), also uses a magnetic button to snap it closed. There are also another two pockets sewn on the inside to further organize your items without zippers. In conclusion, this bag has enough pockets and zippers to fill it to capacity and keep everything very well organized.Adding WAX: To improve the overall look of the bag, plus add some waterproofing, I strongly recommend using some white paraffin type wax, and rubbing it all over the bag. It will give it a more antiqued high end look. I believe it's called "Sail Wax" bags and coats, and you are supposed to maintain them with real wax over the years. So, go ahead and indulge yourselves.I'm a manly man, and I think this is a masculine enough bag, but due to it's size some might joke it's a "man purse." Some may call it a satchel, I believe that Indiana Jones had a similar one. My personal feeling is that it's more of what it referred to as an "engineering bag." The majority of engineers are men, and therefore it's a masculine product. I also think that canvas is better than leather for an item of this sort.Overall, for the prime membership price of $22.50 with shipping, I am very happy with the bag.

I bought this for my husband when he tried to cram one too many things in my handbag! I was done carrying his stuff everywhere. I told him it was time for a Man Bag. He was not in favor of this idea. In fact, he was vehemently opposed. I searched high & low for a bag that was manly enough, yet sturdy. He loves his bag at first sight! Now he carries it everywhere and my handbag is much lighter. The size is perfect and the compartments make it easier for him to find things faster. This may have saved our marriage!

I'm very happy with this bag, especially for the price. It arrived quickly and in great shape. The material feels like a thick canvas or denim and it is solidly built. The inside liner material isn't as nice, but it has many zippered compartments and holds a decent amount of stuff. The main shoulder strap feels very solid. I find that to be the weak point of most bags I've gotten but this one looks like it will hold up well. I've been using this bag for a few weeks now and its still as good as the day I got it.
