This is the 3rd year I've purchased an Arteza Advent Calendar for myself. I feel like it's always a nice way to treat myself and get some art supplies I may not have ordinarily purchased or even known about.This 2024 Advent with Tiffany Anna is my favorite out of the 3 years. I love the amazing box it came in and all the separate boxes inside for each day. Note that my lid tore on two of the corners once I had opened and closed it several times. I used packing tape to repair it, but I recommend taping it right away for reinforcement if you want to keep this beautiful box like I do!In the past Advents I would receive a fun art item each day, but then sometimes wonder what to do with it. I love the prompts that are given this year, along with art supplies for that project. It makes the whole thing even better and more fun. I'm not going to tell you too many details so I don't spoil the fun, but the first project is painting a bumblebee like Tiffany Anna does. I am a beginner artist so before making my final project on the provided canvas (which is super special) I have been practicing on acrylic art paper. By my third try I was happy with the results and now I'm ready to paint the real deal. It helps that the box etc. has those bees all over so that I can see how to do it. I am totally hooked on painting bumblebees now!That is not the case with one of the other projects which involves cherries, there is a prompt but no pictures to help me know what to do. I did look at Tiffany Anna's website and social media pages and finally saw a piece of art she had done with cherries but it's not even the full picture. I'll figure it out but it would be nice to have a little more help for some of these.I am still giving this 5 stars, however, there were a couple of things I was disappointed in. The canvas for the bee painting ends up being wrinkled because of how its boxed. I was able to carefully iron/steam on low on the back side to get the worst of it out. For another project several pages of multi-media paper is supplied - these are really curled up and wouldn't flatten out even after a day under a book. I finally ironed those too. These are for a watercolor but I found the paper to be inferior and didn't like it, thankfully I have my own paper too and switched to that for the project.On days 21-23 you are given a few special extra items picked by Tiffany, they are fabulous items.Some of the boxes, usually the initial day of each project, has multiple items in it. So there are more than 24 items supplied, nice!I started out opening the things for each project at the same time. I was working on the third project today. Some projects need drying time so I'm still in the middle of project 2 as well. Today I decided to just open the rest because some things can go with more than one project and I wanted to see what else I had. I am pleased with the variety of projects and items. Some things are similar to stuff I've done before and some are brand new ideas for me. I'm really enjoying the process. There are at least 6 projects. The last one on day 24 doesn't have a prompt and isn't a medium I've used before, but after looking up ideas online I'm actually really excited to dive in and make Christmas ornaments with it.One great thing is that the majority of the art supplies still have loads left for future projects too.Now that I've used some, and seen all, of the items in this Advent I have no regrets on this purchase and would absolutely buy it again. I recommend it.
