Great Pencils with a great price. Arteza has open stock!
I am new to adult coloring. I am not an artist, just color for stress relief. I originally bought the budget pencils from Shuttle art. The set had 174 colors. I used those for awhile. Then I started running out of frequently used colors. (Sky blue, ocean blue, red) Shuttle art doesn have open stock. None of the common budget brands have open stock. I looked up Prismacolors and they were way out of my budget! This brand is for "serious artists." I looked up Arteza and they had open stock. In all the colors I needed. I bought a few pencils, (which have 3 in a pack!!) And fell in love with them. They were soooo much better than shuttle art! They blended a lot better and sharpened better . The colors are much more vibrant than other budget brands. Also Arteza didn't leven "pencil shavings" and the points didn't break as easily as Shuttle art. In my opinion, Arteza is perfect for adult coloring. Both the watercolors and reagular pencils are amazing. I bought the 48 set for both. I will buy the 120 sets when these run out.

I did a lot of comparison shopping before buying these.
I can't decide on just one creative outlet, and I never know what I may want to do from one day to the next, so these watercolor pencils have been perfect for me! I have used them in various ways, and am still kind of shocked at how they work.I watched a lot of videos, and read a lot of comparison reviews between Prismacolor, Faber-Castell, and Arteza, a lot. And I think that this was the all around best choice for me.The 48 colors are very vibrant on all three swatch tests I did - regular dot-grid paper, Archer & Olive blackout paper, and watercolor swatches on watercolor paper. They are all different, yet complimentary to each other, and the color names are stamped on each one - I guess you don't see that too often. They sharpen great, even when I needed a super fine point. I haven't had a broken piece yet.I am in love with the triangular barrel shape! They feel really good to hold, and work with. They fit nicely in my BTSKY pencil case. If I didn't already have the case, the cylinder they came in is really awesome, and protective - they handled shipping perfectly.Sorry this turned into a novel, but these were things I was looking into before buying, so I hope that this helps at least one person. I will definitely buy more Arteza products.

Excellent Watercolor Pencils!
For $17 this product is a great buy! Did a lot of research and decided on this set to start out. 48 is just the right amount, not too little not too much. This makes it portable (along with the packaging, super travel friendly) and gives you a good array of colors. I also have their awesome hb pencils which is why I was lead to believe this would also be good quality (hehe lead, get it?). Anyways, using the pencils themselves gives you smooth coloring, they're on the creamy side compared to regular colored pencils. Blending similar colors seems to work well, dunno if I'm getting good results with "unlike" colors, or I'm not at that skill level. All colors accounted for. I've included before and after pics using Arteza 48 watercolor pencils. Using water brush pens it came out pretty nice with my first attempt, no "graininess" left from the original pencil coloring. To me, it seems more vibrant after adding water. Did color chart but haven't had time to do water brush part. I've already recommended this to 2 people I know with prime accounts. That's how much I love em :) Hopefully, sharpening em goes well.

For starters, I love the cylindrical packaging. I'm a total sucker for packaging design and this def. takes a cake or two. Regarding the pencils, I was actually quite impressed by the value of the colors as they are layered. Although i did find that results were better when gently applied otherwise the color waxed out too fast and increasing the values by layering became impossible in some spots. The colored lead is sturdier than many others in the game; didn't have to deal with more than one tip-snap. I like the way the triangular shape of the pencil feels in my hand. GREAT PRICE FOR THE VALUE OF THIS PRODUCT.

Just a bit jealous...
First, let me tell you that I didn't buy the Arteza Watercolor Pencils for professional use. I bought them for a little kid who loves to color, but refuses to put caps back onto her marker pens!I went searching for colored pencils for my 8 year old granddaughter, who loves the bright, vivid colors of magic markers, but kills them within days of opening a new pack, when I came across these pencils, for a price I just couldn't refuse.I promptly ordered them for her, and then, in an act of pure selfishness, I ordered a set of "the best quality" pencils I could find, from another company, for myself. Both sets arrived on the same day, and I opened this set of pencils for Natasha, and we started on her homework paper. I was thrilled with the beautiful color, and so was she! When I opened my own set (of "much better quality pencils", I was actually tempted to trade with her...The Arteza, soft core Watercolor Pencils color smoothly on every kind of paper we have tried, with no lumps and chipping. I purchased the 48 pencil set for my little one, and a 16 pencil set for myself...Hers are definitely better, and I am, I have to admit, just a bit jealous, but I promise, I won't take these great pencils from the kid, although I may be tempted to borrow them from time to time, knowing that they are pencils, and they won't dry out!I wish I had found these pencils sooner! I could have bought 5 sets of these pencils (for myself) for the money I've wasted on markers and crayons in the past year!

Pretty Great
They're pretty good. I'm new to watercolor pencils so I decided to buy these as they had a lot of colors and was within a nice price range. They're recommended if you want to play around or something.Their colors don't quite match their labels (the colors are labeled and coded on the outside of the box) but it's only a minor problem if a problem at all. The pencils are vibrant and come out well. If you're going to use them as regular pencils, the colors match almost perfectly. However, if you'd like to use them with water, be prepared for them to not come out as expected.
