Used more immediately than was expected. Strong fragrance of geraniums
Another product using 'Bulgarian Herbs' was previously obtained on behalf of a relative - its exact nature and function is not now remembered other than it was possibly a blend of essential oils (not aromatherapy-related) but the user's later comments are remembered as being very positive. Whether it was also from this brand is not specifically recalled. This "BenePura Zinc Ointment for Skin Irritations - Itchy and Irritated Skin Relief - Nourishes and Regenerates The Skin - 99% Natural Zinc Oxide Cream - 40 ml" is claimed to be a highly concentrated, quadruple strength predominantly herbal cream or salve that needs be used in moderation; one tub could potentially last for several months although it is quite small. It is part of a range of sometimes related treatments for common minor conditions that could then offer its users a choice between formulations.Other than zinc oxide which has long been used to heal wounds and incorporated into the pads of many brands of adhesive plasters and other wound dressings as it has antiseptic properties, the major active ingredients are plantain and calendula extracts, the latter much used, and the remainder are also botanical extracts including several oils, florals and other extracts. Some are easily recognised by their common names, a few less familiar; the base is beeswax. The few remaining ingredients include the widely-used fragrance group of geraniol (predominant and very familiar), limonene, citronellol and linalool that are each derived from various plants and provide a citrusy or floral character according to their relative proportions in a formulation; unfortunately, they can also cause allergies - a test application is therefore suggested. While it can be used to treat common abrasions, small cuts, skin irritations etc and helps prevent scratching, it does not include any anti-histamines, steroids etc that may be effective against hives, insect bites and stings, nettle stings or similar but it may offer some relief and provide assistance towards healing such wounds. It may help heal or relieve other topical conditions. Some of the brand's treatments overlap in their purpose but the formulations are substantially very different other than an often similar base composition.Although not expected to be needed quite so immediately, it was used to ease the intense irritation of prickly heat that had developed within the past day or two not knowing whether it would provide any benefit. After a single application thus far, the irritation eased significantly and very quickly and, over the next 30 minutes or so, all but eliminated it. It can be used two or three times daily and a subsequent application before bed should help ensure a comfortable, irritation-free night. The nature of the product presumably dictates that it not be shared, even within a family group; there is nothing pertinent within the minimal instructions that are offered in multiple languages. On the basis of that limited use and the speedy positive result, a later repeat purchase is probable although consideration may be given to a different formulation in order that it may then resolve other situations.

Didn't work for me
I suffer terribly with severe eczema on my hands, so I got this to help my cracked skin. I really liked the fact that it was small enough to pop in my handbag to use on the go.The scent is lovely, you can really smell the geranium. You also only need a little as it goes a long way.For me though, this just simply didn't work. It is very greasy and just seemed to sit on my skin, rather than sinking in. You can't really do much when using it. I used it with moisturising gloves one night, but it just came off on the gloves rather than sinking in.The one thing that may put people off is the price. At just under £18 (at time of review), this is pricey for what it is. However it's all natural with no unnecessary chemicals in, so this is a plus.

Creamy fragrant balm...
Really lovely balm that smells and feels very authentic to its ingredients and melts into the skin. In the tub it's a pale yellow cream but once you start massaging it into the skin it very quickly melts and becomes a very soothing and fragrant balm with an oily/waxy texture that doesn't feel greasy. It's largely absorbed by the skin and leaves it feeling smooth and very moisturised. It smells quite botanical without being full-on floral and is a real pleasure to use.I've found it instantly soothing on skin with minor chaffing or inflammation but I'd be wary of using it on broken skin or severe outbreaks. There are no preservatives in here and since their main job is to inhibit bacterial growth you'd have to be a bit cautious about where you apply it, I don't see the lack of preservatives as an advantage. That aside it's really lovely and much nicer than the typical supermarket or pharmacy options but still very soothing.

Greasy
The pot is rather small but handy for putting in your bag.The ointment is solid but soon softens to an oily texture when applied to the skin.It smells nice but I did find it a bit too greasy, it took a little too long to absorb in my opinion, I didn’t want to put clothes on just in case it left a greasy mark.Whilst it helped initially with a dry patch I’ve developed on my hip, the effect was short lived and I reverted to my usual moisturiser.Does seem a little expensive and I struggle to be able to use it, mostly due to not having time to wait for it to absorb and dry.Hope you found my review helpful

Works and relief
This Ointment works for me for some parts of my feet that I get very irritated very often, especially if I wear socks. When I place the cream is a relief and reduces the discomfort, obviously is not magic, but it helps me.The size is 40 ml and the container is small and compact. It is greasy but easy to apply, every person has different skin but I recommend it to try.

Calming for irritated skin
Zinc cream with calendula and plantain. This is the first zinc cream I have used that hasn’t been white, which is probably down to the more natural ingredients than the famous brand we all know.It is very good as a barrier cream, leaving an invisible, but slightly shiny deposit on the surface of my skin which liquid rolls off.As it is a zinc cream you know it’s great for a whole range of issues as zinc oxide is known to have astringent, antiseptic and skin regenerating properties. Zinc oxide has long been used to treat minor skin ailments such as burns, cuts, minor wounds, dandruff and eczema as well as helping calm itching, redness, peeling skin and inflammation. It is a small tub with a secure, screw top lid and can easily be packed into a nappy bag or even a handbag.
