This is a very good Organic First Flush Darjeeling for a very fair price
This is a very good Organic First Flush Darjeeling for a very fair price. This tea has a light, grape-like sweetness with very little astringency, and no bitterness unless you push it well over a proper steeping time of 3 to 5 minutes. If you want a sweeter taste, do what many First Flush drinkers do… use water slightly below boiling. If you have a teapot with a temperature control experiment between 190 to 200 plus degrees. When I prepare it at 200-202 degrees it develops a delicious cinnamon-like aftertaste. Nevertheless, it still tastes great if you use full boiling water. This is a quality tea vendor, and I'm curious to try other offerings from them.

... teas and have never found many Darjeelings that would satisfy my need for full flavor and color without overbrewwing
I am normally a drinker of darker more robust teas and have never found many Darjeelings that would satisfy my need for full flavor and color without overbrewwing. This first flush darjeeling, when I contain my impuslses and don't overbrew, delivers a heavily cafienated tea with a golden color that has a strong yet still delicate flavor, very floral, remeniscent of a good Jasmine. Still not my favorite choice for the start of the day but an extreemly flavorful and uplifting tea for later morning or afternoon. I give it "Best of breed" for all Darjeelings I have tried.

Darjeeling mar,2016 picking (first flush) review
I purchased this as well as an estate brand Darjeeling First Flush (picked/packaged Mar,2016); as stated in other reviews, dont oversteep the tea, nor use boiling water (well, u could, but may get same result as steeping it too long, i.e. slight bitterness comes out). The water you use will also affect the flavor. Overall, bottom line, I would buy both the first AND 3rd flush darjeeling teas when I run out. When inspecting the tea leaves, there are no ground up or floor swept powder, just leaves and stems. If you are not sure, buy a small pack, follow the instructions as to preparing it. Enjoy it.

Gourmet taste?????
I am new to the world of loose leaf tea, so my first impressions of this tea may be way off mark. For me this tasted distinctly like fresh hay or alfalfa smells. This is not what I was expecting at all. I kept thinking..".I am not a horse."..so this is probably not going to be my new favorite tea. Perhaps there is a world of sophistication in loose leaf taste that I am just not ready for yet. The shipping and customer service were excellent and the tea does come in good packaging.

Nice Tea
Had my first cup this morning. The tea has a lovely bouquet but, unfortunately is not as strongly flavored as I had expected it would be. Ii's possible I didn't make it strong enough and will be making another cup tomorrow using more tea leaves.

Like some other reviews
Like some other reviews I read... it smells like hey. You need to use large amounts to even get a decent color and even then the flavor of a good black tea is almost undetectable; more like a slight black tea taste mixed with grass (even smells like grass/hey when steeping). Using it to brew a batch of Kombucha, hope it comes out okay. To drink by itself... lets just say its not my cup of tea.

I love this tea
I love this tea! I always liked Darjeeling tea because it's not harsh or bitter. But this tea surpasses any I've ever tasted. Each sip is full of sublime flavor. The color is a lovely rosey golden tanOnce you've tasted whole leaf Darjeeling you'll never want go back to teabags

ummmm good
Oh My Goodness this tea is great. . I added a small chunk of ginger (for stomach) and steeped for 5 minutes. I add a dash of 1/2 & 1/2 after steeping and drink up. No sweetener is needed. It is delicious...will definitely buy again.
