Hattie and the Fox

Keep the little ones expecting with such eagerness.
This was always one of my grandchildren's favorites. I just bought the board book for a great-grandchild due in the spring! Watch the little one's eyes as you are reading. Such excitement waiting to see what comes next.I often would memorize the books so when we were in the car they could hold the book in the back and hear me read from the driver's seat. Such great memories!

It's a hit!!! Love it when the cow saws MOOOO! Great gift for 3 year olds
Hattie is my go to gift for all the three year old birthday parties we have attended this year.-Great illustrations (my daughter loves pointing out the parts of the fox that you can see in the bushes)-Nice repetition-Clever story with a little lesson at the end-Part when the cow says MOOOO, is a great time to be loud and silly

Wonderful book!
I read this book to my son, and just bought it again to read to my granddaughters! It was my son’s favorite. He could recite it word for word! ❤️

Great story, good art work!
I absolutely love this book. I lost my first copy so replaced it. It is a story that can be read over and over again. It can even be acted out with puppets in the classroom because it is similar to The Little Red Hen, in that the kids can remember their lines very easily. The artwork is wonderful...a paper collage with ink details. Check the faces out at the end. Tooooo cute! I consider it a classic.

the illustrations are great but...
there is no story line. it was so boring for me that i had to return :). love the illustrations though. really nice. but i returned. i think an older child (2-4) would enjoy more than my 12 MO son because there is a hidden fox but we arent there yet

Great bedtime story
My two boys (ages 6 and 4) love this story - it is cutely written and illustrated. They love to hear this story for bedtime. I mainly picked it because we have chickens and there was a chicken on the cover. Haha. Will look for more of her titles to read to them.

When the higher functions of bureaucracy collapse only a hen can save the day.
Plot spoilers ahead! Ignored by those around, our hero hen insists that her fears are acted upon and the foxes - out to remove from society and for their own pleasure, all that is held to be of value - must be stopped. The foxes are weakly opposed and a lack of balanced reporting means the farmyard is all but unaware of the impending doom that faces all. Only in the last gasps are the foxes (and pigs) stopped from doing their worst.A book for our times.
