Homesick Scented Candle, Birthday Party

Ive had birthday cake candles before and they are my favorite. This one has a very nice fragrance and it does smell like cake frosting but not as strong as others I’ve had so it’s not overwhelming and nauseating when you burn it for a long time. My husband came home and commented on how good it smelled upstairs. It burns very even and very slow, it’s a well made candle. I had it lit for probably 4 hours and the wick didn’t drown or flare and the wax remained even across the top, no round depression formed around the wick. My two suggestions to the manufacturer would be, put a lid on this candle! The room smells so nice and then you blow it out and all you smell is smoke. A lid acts as a snuff and then there is no smoke leaving the jar, isn’t that the whole point of a candle in a jar???Second suggestion would be the intensely simplistic, boring put you to sleep, sad depressing label. I know it’s called homesick but I don’t want to feel sad when I’m homesick, I want to be picked up. Its also called a birthday candle, what birthday doesn’t have festive colors, balloons, flowers, candles, something memorable right? Black lettering on a white label is like a funeral candle.Ok, so that’s my opinion. I still really like your candle itself but let’s celebrate the birthday, the memories of home, not mourn them!

I love the way these candles burn. The scent is perfectly balanced and Birthday Party is smells like marshmallow, cake & sugar. It was the perfect accompaniment to our daughters birthday and provided a sweet, fun ambiance to the room. "Birthday Party" is quite fragrant and is in a generous glass container. I particularly love how clean these candles burn, there is little soot and it provides ample fragrance. Would make a wonderful addition to any home, party or gift.

This candle is very nice. The box it came in could be given as a gift just the way it is. Put a bow on it and wish someone a Happy Birthday, especially if they are a candle lover. I wasn't sure how long this candle was going to last. At first it pretty much burnt straight down (see the pics) about an inch, and i'm thinking it's not going to burn at all once the melted wax fills the narrow hole it's making, but it did settle down and burn like it should. As for the birthday scent, it was lacking a bit. It does smell like a birthday party cake, exactly like it states, but it's fairly faint. It's not like it hits you when you walk in the room. But if you are nearby where it's burning you can definitely smell it. It's a tough one to review. The box it's in is great and very gift-able just like it is, no wrapping needed. And the candle is very nice looking. I just link it should have a stronger birthday cake smell, that's the whole idea of the candle. But on the other hand for some folks a slight smell of the fragrance it's supposed to make may be enough, a personal preference kind of thing. Overall it would make a nice gift, or buy one just for yourself if you like the birthday cake odor every day.

-- Birthday Party --The smell is unmistakably a Birthday Party with Vanilla Cake and Butter Cream Icing.You can smell it as you open your delivery box. I imagine these candles make the warehouse smell very interesting.The aroma is strong and long lasting. It remains so through out the entire candle.I do like the retail packaging as it is presentable and once wrapped makes for an exciting gift.The unburned candle makes for an air freshener that lasts for several weeks. You can scrape the top of the candle to expose new fragrance. Once you start burning it the aroma changes a bit and it doesn't smell as much until you burn it again.The Birthday Party fragrance is nostalgic and spot on. I really like it. These are expensive candles and that is the only reason for the 4 star rating. Otherwise they are top quality.

This candle is packaged so cute and is perfect for a gift. The size of this candle is about the size of a coke can and is shaped like a coke can too. The “birthday party” scent is supposed to smell like a vanilla birthday cake and it doesn’t disappoint. As soon as the box was opened I smelled the scent of vanilla. This burns well and clean. Doesn’t emit any smoke or residue. This burns FOREVER which is nice. This is on the expensive side, it it does smell good and burns for a long time. Plus the packaging is super cute. I’ve used candles from the line before and I’ve always loved their products. Will continue to support this brand!

This is an excellent candle. Quality is great and the smell is exceptional. It is a sweet dessert like smell - birthday cake is a more apt description in my view than birthday party. The box is nicely decorated, but the candle itself just has a black and white label. Still looks good though.

Homesick is a fun brand with creative scents (and marketing), but this one is almost too traditional. While it is a party in name, the scent is exactly what you would expect from a standard vanilla cupcake style candle. Fortunately, I love sweet scents, and a standard vanilla will never go wrong. The throw is decent and it lasts pretty well. To be blunt, Yankee Candle does this scent better. Still, Homesick is a brand worth digging into if you are looking for scents from different states and other nostalgic concepts.

I’m usually a big fan of birthday cake everything, and I thought this candle was pretty okay. The scent is decent, but for me a little heavy. I wasn’t getting a lot of birthday cake but more of a sugar explosion, which is okay, but not what I was expecting or really wanting. It kind of smells like a cheap body lotion. I have other candles by this brand that I like more. The box is adorable and I love the look of the jar it’s very simplistic but elegant.
